Kirtan-o-Rama!
Kirtan is a form of call and response chanting in the Indian devotional tradition. We will sing the Holy Names of God/dess in the ancient, sacred language of Sanskrit. The repetition of these mantras brings one to deep stillness, bliss, and to a profound sense of oneness with All. Please do come, sing out, and encounter your own true, Divine Nature.
Robin Renée in Concert!
Assertive, soulful, and deeply personal, Robin Renée’s mantra-pop performances (alt-folk with a spiritual twist) deliver through a passionate medium of edgy acoustic rock, singer/songwriter lyricism, accessibility, and the sonic impact of chant.
The Art of Stillness
Many great practices teach us to explore ways to move energy and to create positive change inside and outside ourselves. Meditation allows us to look within, develop a stable, centered balance, and to discover the perfection of simply being present. The Art of Stillness will create space for deep quietude through several meditation techniques and will address questions and obstacles to the practice.
Bio stuff:
Robin Renée is Mantra-Pop! –accessible, lyric-driven alt-folk rock with a spiritual twist. Conscious and melodic with an edge, think of blending the voices of Chrissie Hynde and Joan Armatrading with the wordsmith intelligence of Elvis Costello and the mystical passion of kirtan chanting. She has shared the stage with some of the West’s best-loved kirtan singers including Krishna Das, Dave Stringer, and Girish. Her CDs include In Progress, All Six Senses (produced by the world renowned Scott Mathews who has worked with George Harrison, Elvis Costello, Barbra Streisand, and many more), Live Devotion (East-meets-West devotional chanting), and spirit.rocks.sexy – mantra-pop headlines from the clairaudient dreams of the evocative Robin Renée. Also a poet, artist, and writer, Robin’s work has appeared in PanGaia, Big Hammer #12, Curve Magazine, Songwriter’s Market, That Takes Ovaries – Bold Females and their Brazen Acts (Random House), and many other publications. She is currently working on new music for 2011. To discover more, visit these sites:

Mert began her love affair with yoga in 1994 and she’s been hooked ever since- always making herself the student first. She became certified to teach yoga in July 2010 through Stephanie Keach at Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC . Mert’s classes are fun and playful and incorporate stillness and flow with core strenghthening pilates. Mert’s philosophy is that anyone can do yoga, it is not about the flexibility of an individual- it’s moreso about that person’s experience linking breath and movement to create their own yoga and peace. If you have a desire to explore and play and delight in yourself then this is the yoga for you.

There was a time when I was impulsive… I would just do maybe I was reactive to every situation. It wasn’t until I found meditation that I started my path of intention. Like prayer meditation gave me strength it renewed my faith! Again I understood what was Sacred to me. I began regular practice of intention…. It began to “tune” me, my focus was stronger, my reflexes sharped and my Spirit was feed! Nourished I am eager to share my path not just to lead by example but to nurture others who are looking but not know what for….
The truest gift I obtained is patience, trust and joy! And the ability to share it with others!
Thank you!
